The Jackson 5ive

The Jackson 5ive
ABC - Premiered 9-11-71

the Jackson Five The Jackson Five were a singing-and-dancing group of young black men whose music was skillful but smooth enough to appeal to different ages and races; beginning in 1971, a cartoon series based on the boys debuted, jointly developed by Rankin-Bass (better known for their animated holiday specials) and Motown (the kids' record label). The series's stories revolved around wacky misadventures the group encountered while traveling around the country, with two musical numbers per episode. Michael - the youngest and most popular Jackson - was usually the focal point of the stories. In the cartoon he had a pet snake, Rosie, and two mice, named Ray and Charles. Its second year, the show consisted entirely of reruns.
